No, let me break it to you softly. It's NOT real. It says at the beginning it was inspired by a true story. The true story being that of Ed Gein, the serial killer in the 50's. There were no 5 kids, there were no chainsaws, there was no psychotic community conspiracy.
The inspiration came from Ed Gein, and how he used to create masks out of human skin, and cannibalize his victims. In TCM, leatherface is wearing a human skin mask, and the family owns a meat factory where they make chilli out of human remains mixed with that of animals.
Don't believe everything you read on the big screen, better yet, just do some reasearch.
Cool! I want to watch this one. The other day I decided to get the original one, instead got the leatherface one( starring Rene and Mathew) by mistake. It was horrible. The worst movie of all times.
I don't know what to do.. watch just this new one or go ahead and watch the original one ..and again watch this one when the dvd is released.

well duh i know everything in that movie wasn't real. but the main part about ED GEin was, and thats what i'm talking about. thats the sacry part. to know there r psychos like that....yuck!! i mean come to think of it i've been to so many of those kinds of freaky places when i went camping and stuff, and hiking. and to think that i could have came across a cannibal like that scares the shi* out of me! i dont think i can ever go camping again, and thats sad cuz i loved all that stuff. and yeah there might have been no 5 kids but obviously they ate some people.
Sounds boring and will probably appeal to B movie buffs and sickos.

Yes, it definitely appeals to B horror fanatics, and fans of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre classic from 1973. This new one was quite well done really, nothing really "B" about it.
Chandbeti, you're right, that movie was horrible. You have to check out the original. It's a timeless classic, and a big inspiration to all slasher films.
I'm the best. Nothing in the movie was real. Ed Gein was not Leatherface, didn't carry a chainsaw, didn't own a meat business, didn't terrorize 5 kids, didn't live in a house in the woods.
Texas Chain saw masacre
dammm ..sick movie..they said it was real and based on true story....but i doubt it....anymovie..just got back from seeing it... i think this movie grossed me out, i am not gona eat meat for a long time now. One word for this type of movie....STUPIDNESS.
yeah i figured i would not go to see it...have u seen any good halloween movie this year (as in released this year)?
Re: Texas Chain saw masacre
It was a good movie, but I’m still true to the original version from 73. Furquan, it is inspired from a true story, but the story in the movie is not true.
It’s inpsired from the Ed Gein murders in the 50’s. Check the following link. It’s been discussed in this thread.

Did you mean "Halloween" movie specifically, or just any horror movie?
