^ Shoaib Malik played resonably well under tremendous pressure and injury. But I think he wont play as major a role as he usually does in onedayers because of his bowling suspension.

Regarding topic at hand,
Positives:
-Salman Butt is the top one definately. We generally find openers by playing them in test matches but here we have one by playing htem in the toughest of ground (australians) and here we have our openers who will hopefully serve us in yeas to go. Ramiz Raja/Tauqir Zia can be proud of themselves becasue Salman Butt is first player to emerge out of National cricket Academy. (Our future might be that bleak after all)
Danish Kaneria. He is a genuine trier who can bowl endless overs in an innings. Now we can say that we have our number one spinner.
Younis Khan. He missed out on big scores but he showed consistency with three forties. Yes you can argue that he should have carried on but at least we found our one down test player.
-Shoaib Akhtar- He definately needs applaud for the way he had his hold on australian top order. He was disappointing in last test though. But I hope he will come good in agan in VB series.
Negatives:
Mohammad Sami-- performed really well in first innings of the first match but sadly he was under par for the rest of the series and the injury sealed it.
Imran Farhat-- A big disappointment and I dont think that with Yasir and Taufeeq, he would be highly optimistic if he thinks he can make a comeback in indian series.
Abdul Razzaq-- Popaye the sailor man could have done much better with the bat at least but well then again he is not a test player anymore but a must in onedayers.
Some 'on the fence performances':
Yousuf Youhana I thought was exceptional in the second test but didnt carry on in remaining innings of the tour. Though his imaginative captaincy and that brilliant hundred should give him enough confidence for rest of his career.
Kamran Akmal was disappointing with the bat apart from a 47 run innings that almost saved him an axe for onedayers. Plus apart from that Langer catch. he was good behind the stumps and Ian Healy was really impressed with his keeping.
Mohd Asif was I thought very impressive and bowled a really good line in sydney. I think he will become a better bowler and deserve more chances.
Afridi played a good knock in sydney test but he didnt bowl well. Specially I was looking how he did not bowl his off-spinner at all. Maybe saving them for the VB series? Highly doubtful though.
