Re: Test of nerves: Pakistan’s four greatest Test victories
I remember the bangalore one - it was a nerve wracking one for sure and Pakistan did well to keep their nerves in control
Gavaskar played best knock of his life in the second innings and brought India close to the victory
when he got out - it was a heart break!
i watched each ball of that test match...
In 1999 it was encore at Chennai - Tendulkar brought India very close to victory and i think 16 odd runs were there when he got out to Saqlain

Lords 1982 I was at the ground, what a great victory that was. I have a full article on it in this forum.
Re: Test of nerves: Pakistan’s four greatest Test victories
Yes that was special. we chased the small total just in time. It started pouring down heavily soon after the winning hit
I would count recent test against Lanka at Sharjah as one of our best wins ever. Pakistan’s fragile and unpredictable batting did the impossible, scoring 300+ runs in 60 overs on a 5th day wicket, to date the fastest 300+ run chase in history!
Re: Test of nerves: Pakistan’s four greatest Test victories
This game as well, 1st test v WI in 1988, memorable for Imran’s 11/121 and Miandad’s 114
Not easy to beat Windies in Windies back in those days. Viv missed the first test
Re: Test of nerves: Pakistan’s four greatest Test victories
That 1999 match was a total shock.Victory was changing sides.I was watching it with my cousins and it was a a total shocker when we all saw Sachin getting caught off Saqlain.
But the sportsman spirit shown by the spectators at Chennai stadium can never be forgotten.A full standing ovation was given to the triumphant Pak team.
