Despite India’s woeful bowling displays this series, it is not the worst performance ever by a bowling unit in a test series. That ignominy is jointly shared by West Indies and Australia.
The world record is 15 hundreds conceded by:
**
West Indies **
The Frank Worrell Trophy (West Indies in Australia), 1968/69
6 Bowlers in 5 Tests & 15 100s.
**2) Australia **
The Ashes (Australia in England), 1985
6 Bowlers in 5 Tests & 15 100s.
Indian bowlers in contrast conceded a disappointing 12 hundreds during the recently concluded test series against England (6 different bowlers in 7 innings)
Re: Test Bowlers: Centurions and Double Centurions in a Test Series
I think it is OK if the bowler get the 100+ mark at the average of below 2.5 runs per over... Like Sarfaraz Nawaz above, bowled 50 overs and conceded 100 plus runs at the average of 2 runs per over is not that bad as far as runs are concerned..
