True, but on a much smaller scale globally. Thats probably the reason why you will never see nut jobs like Terry Jones burning the Geeta.
However, I don't believe the perceived "antics" of some Muslims gives Jones or anyone else the right to hurt religious sentiments.

ميں يہ واضع کرنا چاہتا ہوں کہ قران پاک کو جلانے سے امريکہ کو کوئ فائدہ حاصل نہيں ہوتا۔ جناب ميں نے سمجھا کہ مسلم صاحب ٹيری جونز کا ذکر کر رہے تھے۔
يہ بڑی بدقسمتی ہے کہ ان لوگوں نے قران کو جلايا، بہرحال يہ بھی بتانا ضروری ہے کہ ان مٹھی بھر لوگوں نے بائبل سمیت ديگر مذہبی کتابيں بھی جلائيں۔ ان لوگوں کی امريکی حکومت حمايت نہیں کرتی۔ جیسا کہ میں نے سابقہ گفتگو ميں نشاندہی کی ہے کہ امریکی حکومت تقریر کی آزادی پر یقین رکھتی ہے۔ امريکی حکومت کے پاس مذہبی آزادی کو روکنے يا اس پر کسی طرح کی پابندی لگانے کی قانونی اتھارٹی نہیں ہے۔ آپ کو ياد دلانا چاہتا ہوں کہ مذہب اور تقرير کی آزادی کی بدولت امریکہ ميں مسلمانوں کے کئ گروہ مفت ميں قران پاک کی کاپياں تقسيم کر رہے ہيں۔
کيا آپ واقعی يہ سمجھتے ہيں کہ محض ايک فرد کے ايسے انفرادی فعل کی بدولت جسے امريکی ميڈيا نے بھی عمومی طور پر نظرانداز کيا ہے اور جسے کوئ اجتماعی حمايت بھی حاصل نہيں ہوئ، ملک کے آئين اور قوانين ميں تبديلی کر دينی چاہيے – يہ جانتے ہوۓ بھی کہ ايسی صورت ميں مسلمانوں سميت آبادی کے ايک بڑے حصے پر منفی اثرات مرتب ہوں گے؟

Easier said than done... if you reveresed the role any other Religion even Bhudism would have it's hard liners queing up to throw an all out attack against such Balsphemy.
No other religion has such a strict code against Blasphemy.
They burned Quran , you can burn his photo, jotafy his dummy , burn his dummy . I know we cannot burn bible in response as it is one of our books too, distorted maybe , but still contains some of Allah revelations .
What UN workers had to do with his burning of Quran ? In fact majority of US citizens would not relate or support the kind of philosophy TJ has. If they did all the Muslims would have packed their bags and would have left US already for some greener pastures.

Islam is simmilar in doctrine to Judaism and Christianity and you know the Christian codes for Blasphemy were as harsh as anything Islam states and Judaism just as much... okay they have watered it down these days with the Synod and Papal Bullas reducing the severity with the times but that does not mean Islam is anywhere near the only faith that allows violence as a response.
However I do agree that unnessacary hitbacks are not a good idea and are totally counterproductive but human nature is a very cruel and relentless thing which when unleashed can be a force few things can stop....

As you rightly say other religions have adapted their blasphemy laws in keeping with current times and issues of liberty, freedom of speech etc. Islam has not, even though most Muslims do not strictly follow the blasphemy law.

If Hindus were as geographically and culturally diverse as Muslims, and had dominion over such resources of global significance as oil as many Muslims do, then you would see Hindus and their Geeta vilified as the Koran is. That Jones isnt burning the Geeta, is due simply to the fact that Western interests and Hindu interests don't conflict, and so neither feels threatened by the other.
The reason you see this apparent conflict between the West and Muslims, as personofied by this Terry Jones person, is because their is a conflict of intrest.
Simply put, Hindu interests are confined to India, and India is comparatively irrelevant to the West.

Actually, the Prophet said "because you will be in love with worldliness and materialism" now that's very different from what you said. In Islam, we are not allowed to call upon death on ourselves or others, suicide is also haram and also the verse that says if you save a life it's like saving the whole mankind and if you murder a person it's like murdering the whole humanity. Also, why don't you follow Prophet's (SAW)' example, he even prayed for his and Islam's enemies.

Why do you make Islam a religion that's all about killing non-muslims? Is that how you call non-muslims to Islam? Is that how our Prophet(SAW) called people to Islam? The verse about fighting and killing was revealed when muslims were attacked and they didn't know if they should defend themselves so this verse tells that if we're attacked by non-muslims we can fight back to defend ourselves.
