**ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Friday that the security situation in Punjab was deteriorating on a daily basis.

**Speaking to the media, Malik added that after Karachi and Quetta terrorists were turning their attention towards Lahore.

The Interior Minister also defended the motorcycle riding ban in Karachi and Quetta on Muharram first stating that credible intelligence had been received of motorcycles being used as bombs.
Malik added that the ban was put in place after consultation with the prime minister and Sindh government.
The interior minister also tweeted that the federal government exercised its power under article 148 of the constitution to ban the movement of motorcycles during religious processions in Karachi.
Did not he advise Shahbaz Sharif to ban motorbikes altogether?

I am glad that the terrorists were arrested on intel reports. They are suspected of playing a role in Kamra airbase attack. They confessed to killings police, rangers and army personnel. I hope justice is speedily meted out to them.

I totally agree with you. Even if you check the record of terrorism in Pakistan post 2008 there is a significant drop in suicide bombing instances. Apart for target killings in Karachi the security situation is much better than what it was in 2008. It seems what ever Rahman Malik is doing.. it seems to be working.

Some people give credit to army's operation in FATA, some give credit to drone bombings.... and then some give credit to Rahman Malik :)
