Terrorists hiring jobless at Rs.40,000 a month: Pakistani lawmaker

Islamabad, July 1 (IANS) Terrorist outfits in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province are recruiting jobless youth by paying them up to Rs.40,000 a month, a Pakistani lawmaker has said.
‘Terrorists are luring these youth in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Tribal Areas with ‘salaries’ of Rs.40,000 a month,’ said Senator Zahid Ali Khan of the Awami National Party (ANP), according to a report in the Urdu daily Jang Friday.
Khan, the chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Health, made the statement at a meeting of the panel Thursday.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan, has been the most affected by terrorist violence with car bombings, shootings and attacks on police, security personnel and leading politicians almost a daily occurrence.
40000 is a really good salary, which many professionals start earning after 8-9 years of work experience. Now we get to the main point again, as to from where this amount is coming to the terrorists? The government can do nothing to stop the money trail?
On the one side the inflation is rising, and the people are getting jobless due to loadshedding, and if the same people are offered monetary incentives they will do anything.

I believe you are thinking in the absolutely right direction. All ideologies, all cults, all movements, could be defeated if their finances dry out.
THAT's where the focus of intelligence agencies should be. But unfortunately everyone in the country seem to shy away from asking this question. Even all political parties don't say a word about stopping the financial backers.
I read a report somewhere that poor people with large families are offered 5 lakh rupees per child for giving up the child for their cause. Very interesting. How come those people get all that money?
It's unbelievable that Pakistan govts would do everything but would never ask this question.

Unfortunately this is a very old news, long time back during Mush time I remember TTP laid claims on many of businesses or extorted money from them a la bhatta, some "mines" or quarries were taken over for their money, recently there was a news about Saudis financing of "madrassahs", there were few news articles of 'kidnap-for-ransom' on the rise and one of the kidnappers was caught and he said that they are doing it to finance the "jihad", I am sure they are also involved in many robberies around the country.
It is a well known fact since day one as to how they get money to perform anti-Pakistan activities. But no one in the country has guts to say that foreign funding from Saudis etc is a huge problem for us. After all they are "birader islami mulk".
So much so that when it is pointed out that military attacks can not stop the khawarij, then our politicians would suggest to "negotiate" with them instead of suggesting to stop their funding. "birader islami mulk".
If this is the claim he is talking about then I would rather not give any references. This is the least one would expect to know from someone who posts in Pakistan Affairs.
