**PM chairs high-level meeting on security **
ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting is presently underway at Prime Minister House to discuss law and order situation and recent spree of terrorist attacks in the country, reports ARY NEWS.
Key figures of ruling alliance and major national political parties, cabinet ministers and chiefs of intelligence and security agencies were present in the meeting that is being chaired by PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Those who were present in the meeting include Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, President Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, Deputy Convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar and others.
Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani briefed the meeting on security situation of the country and the preparations of Pakistan Army for launching an offensive against Taliban militants in Waziristan tribal region, the channel added.
