Is it just me or ever since the US has been pulling out and the drone program about to end, the terrorists are actually getting more brazen.
Now there is no way that the US will come in and give any assistance. The “war on terror” has exhausted the US economy as well as morale and divided Americans sharply. US is pulling out.
Drones , as much as people were against them, were actually helpful in gathering information and intelligence and they were helpful as a way to keep these guys at bay.
I was expecting that with the withdrawal of the US, these guys would go off to Afghanistan, and leave us alone, since they wouldn’t tolerate a western-backed government in Afghanistan giving it’s citizens liberties like education, etc. But instead, they’re still sitting here, and hell bent on taking Pakistan over.
Urgh. I have a very bleak view that they will be killed off. The military needs to go into N. Waziristan and go door to door killing anyone that looks like a foreigner or talking like a foreigner.
These attacks have been taking place off and on for the past six years, and drone attacks were taking place during that period. While the terrorists are clear in their objectives, unfortunately the state still differentiates between good and bad militants. Until this policy of confusion prevails we will keep on going in a vicious circle.
The problem with drones was not that militants react to drone attacks. The problem was that they made recruitment drives by militants much easier. Drones or no drones now, the damage has been done years ago.
Some of attacks have been by Uzbeks who in past had Afghan Taliban support/backing but were regarded as 'good Taliban'.... the bad Taliban have been 'local criminal elements' like Mehsuds. Either more foreign and fresh recruits are hired from Uzbeks for money looted from within Pakistan or provided from some other fund or old Uzbeks gone "bad".

Their attacks have always bee opportunistic. I don't think there's any merit in the idea that attacks like that in Karachi would not have happened with the American's (illegal) drone program in Pakistan.

The result of the entire fiasco has no verifiable truths as it's net product. We know of a few militant leaders who were killed, and a few civilians. The rest of the causalities...who knows. One could argue that all we are seeing is a new generation who lived under the terror of drone strikes being led down the militant route...perhaps because of personal trauma. As far as non-lethal use, I would presume that hasn't stopped...and if there is information sharing, it would certainly be an improvement.

haha. Afghan talibans are good talibans and Pakistani talibans are bad talibans. So simple...
They are different organizations, who don't seem to be operationally coupled. If that is true, then our concern is with the Pakistani Taliban only. If it is not true, then there is no point in distinguishing.

you are right, they are diffrent organizations....

what will dead suicide bombers do with this money? they are brainwashed jihadis not mercenaries.
Hafiz Sa’eed ko Foreign Minister banaa kar India sarkaarii daure par bhej deN…iA, lauT kar vaapas nahiiN aayeNge. Pakistan will have one less terrorist to deal with!
