Terror in Islamabad

Forget about any potential bombings or criminal kidnappings, I’m terrified of the traffic here. And i thought Manhattan was bad!! It’s a miracle that there arent more accidents here.

  1. Traffic stop light at a major intersection near my place has not worked for the past few days
  2. Seems most people don’t know how a roundabout works, they just merge in rather than yield
  3. No concept of lanes
  4. Hardly anyone gives lane turn indicators
  5. Almost nobody has patience to wait if a car infront is trying to turn and will honk/squeak through. Wonder what could possibly be so urgent that they just cant wait few secs
  6. Almost never yield to flow of traffic and will turn/cut infront of you

Just insane.

Re: Terror in Islamabad

U have clearly not been to karachi.

Re: Terror in Islamabad

Re: Terror in Islamabad

This is how Man was meant to drive the car!

Re: Terror in Islamabad

if you can learn to drive on pakistani roads, then you can drive on any terrain in the world with ease.

Re: Terror in Islamabad

Pfftt, darpok people ..

Re: Terror in Islamabad

dude, this is the normal traffic in Pakistan. And like two people said above, you probably havent seen traffic in karachi and lahore. There are at least SOME rules followed in Islamabad..

There is a saying. 'Learn here, drive anywhere'.

Re: Terror in Islamabad

I know of someone who was a local wagon driver in Lahore, but failed his theory and practical tests in Australia 3 times, cos he couldn't follow the road rules ha ha

Re: Terror in Islamabad

You should try driving in Lahore on a 14th August. You’ll never complain. :hehe:

Re: Terror in Islamabad

I think you didn’t step out of Islamabad yet, which is capital city and supposly better then rest of Pakistan. Well you should not step out of ISB, because the danger of heart attack will be 100%.

A clip for enlightenment, dad says if one can drive in Pakistan, he can drive at k2. This is benchmark.
