terrified--child's skull

with baby teeth

The mouth of a child is a terrifying thing to behold

I don’t know how I feel about this. :expressionless: I’m like… :S

but evolution is true :snooty:

Can anyone explain the ontogenetic process for this? do the bones ossify later?

Re: terrified–child’s skull

:bummer:

Re: terrified--child's skull

i've seen replacement teeth
rows upon rows of teeth
but nothing matches this

:( I could not have imagined!

Re: terrified--child's skull

This image will pop up everytime I look at a child now shudder

Re: terrified--child's skull

So that's where the adult teeth come from. Interesting

Re: terrified--child's skull

This was awesome. Thanks philo :D

What about newborns? Do they have two sets of teeth hidden in there somewhere?

Re: terrified--child's skull

^looking that up now

I'm scared of the first image..it reminds me of a tyrannosaurus skull

this was a weird...reality check..even for me

Really, you guys never imagined that? I kind of knew that without ever looking.

I believe that new born will not have two rows but only one. It's later on the birth of upper row that will start pushing the baby teeth out from the gum and continue to grow till the adult tooth pushed the whole baby tooth out, one at a time.

Re: terrified--child's skull

no I actualyl had no clue

had never thought about it

thought they grew on the spot :(

Re: terrified--child's skull

Kind of knew this from the Xray my daughter had to take but the still the skull takes the cake.
