terrible loss of life, what are the rules on having life vests or lifeboats etc for ppl on such ships?

Old ass ship anyways, The company needs to explain its lameness.

Very sad. I heard on the news how the ship was about 35 years old or so. From what I could gather, according to the Egyptian law the company shouldn't be using a ship as old as this one. They should've stopped using it 10 years ago.
