I thought to share my terrible recent experience with SkyNet that caused me a loss of Almost PKR 80,000. I sent my parcel to UK through SkyNet that had exclusive hand embroidred silk wedding invitations along with a guest book, a photo frame and tissue organza bags.
You will not believe that it reached my client in totally ripped off condition. Around 80% of the invitations where totally destroyed. They were ripped off at the edges and also some off them had dirty marks on them. The guest book’s front page was ripped and the photo frame was OMG split into pieces.
The parcel was packed in very bad quality boxes and they had splits when they reached my client. My client was a nice lady and that’s why I just escaped from being sued… But that was a terrible ever experience for me.
I will also attach pictures for u to get an idea of the extent of destruction they caused to my parcel. We have already talked to higher officials and each and every one is passing the ball into others court. Pakistanis are blaming UK operations and UK operations is blaming Pakistan but at the end who suffers… the sender ofcourse…
SO JUST PLZ DONT GO FOR SAVING MONEY… DONT RELAY ON THESE CHEAP CARGO SERVICES AND GO FOR RENOWNED ONES LIKE DHL OR FedEx AS THEY TAKES THE RESPONSIBILITY AND NEVER DO SUCH RIDICULOUS MISTAKES
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE.......... Totally destroyed parcel
I'm really sorry to hear this. I hope you get some kind of compensation.
A note to buyers - if you've dealt with my vendor you know I always advise against Skynet and that you should pay the extra for TCS or DHL/FedEx and this is why; Skynet take the items and package them themselves which leaves an opportunity for the goods not to be packaged properly or mixed up (I think this happened with proto).
OP - do you think things may have been damaged through customs though?
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE.......... Totally destroyed parcel
Very sorry to hear that :( I have had a bad experience with them in the past as well with a lost parcel ! but unfortunately I still have to use them at times for customers who are not willing to pay DHL/fedex rates for UK since skynet charges less than half of what DHL/fedex ask and they are willing to take a risk ! we need to find a more reliable option for UK that is not as expensive as DHL/fedex either.

Yes, I have received many boxes from Skynet. The quality of the box they used was similar to a very thick shoe box, not something suitable for shipping internationally. The box was sealed with one strip of tape. They then put this flimsy box into a kind of shipping bag. At least when the boxes arrived broken open, the contents weren't lost. I complained to the sender about it, and my most recent shipment was sent in a proper, thick, shipping box, well taped. I have 2 more shipments coming soon, and I hope they've been packed properly. I'll update you if there is any shipping problem.
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE.......... Totally destroyed parcel
Thanks for letting everyone know and sorry about the whole incident, must be so frustrating :( good luck with everything....hopefully you get compensated for the damages
For my last order from Lahore I decided to go with FedEx (paid $100 for express/priority shipping) but I figured If I am spending so much on 12+ outfits I might as well get the parcel safely and in 1 piece, will be doing the same again, the best part was I got my package in 4 days to Toronto
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE… Totally destroyed parcel
Yes there was no issue with time of delivery but what to do with the destroyed parcel.
I am attaching pics of what was actually sent and what was recieved.
Secondly they have refused to compensate for anything they are saying that they will take care in next shipping…
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE.......... Totally destroyed parcel
That's very upsetting to hear especially as they are refusing to pay any type of compensation. DP, your work does look lovely, I hope you'll continue with providing good quality stuff and not be put off by this setback.
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE.......... Totally destroyed parcel
DP, did you put them in plastic wraps? I mean how did you hand-over the stuff with skynet? you work with fragile items and I would definitely use hard covers/boxes for sending them off overseas,no matter whatever service I use.
Re: terrible experience with SkyNetWWE.......... Totally destroyed parcel
^ I have i used skynet a few times, i handed them a well packed parcel and they asked me to open it since they will use their own packaging and repack it anyway, so next time i just handed them the items, so i think no matter how she had packed the things, they wud have opened and changed the packing anyway, no?

I packed them in proper brown card sheet packaging material. I always pack my stuff that way before handing it over to the client as all these items are very delicate. They had our business logos on them.
The problem was not just destruction in transit but in actuall they actually opened all those brown paper wraps in a very ridiculuos style. Infact I mentioned it before handing it over to the shipper that what items are there in each packing. I handed over a proper packing list to him like all other courier companies. They got it signed and stamped and promised that nothing will be opened and only will be inspected.
Just see how it was INSPECTED. The book had a tear at its very front page. The photo frame was totally ripped off into pieces and most of the invitations were teared off at the edges.
UHHH....... Its very hard to believe that after 2 months of hard work and dedication what you recieve in return........ NOTHING just destroyed REPUTATION.
