Took my family to Hot and Sour Restaurant over the weekend. I would say food was good if not as good as Salt and Pepper, but a good alternate place to be for chinese food.
However the owner and management is exteremly pathetic. First I called them and had reservation for 25 people, they said yes we can accomodate them and your seats will be reserved at the given time. Khair got there at time 8:20PM and placed the order, everything was normal. Now after half an hour, no sign of food. Khair waiting. More people coming in and finally the restaurant got full.
Now more customers coming and the owner comes to us asking us to order more as he has to send back his customers for us (what the hell is that). We said he didn’t say that when we first ordered and now since he is seeing more customers coming and standing he is demanding us to order more (that too when after 45 minutes they haven’t served a single dish yet). They said they have a goal to make certain $$ from each table on Sundays (the biggest joke I have ever heard from a resturant owner) so we have to bump up the bill. We said we have ordered enough for us and we might order more but first serve what we have ordered already. Anyway, the first appietizer (for kidz) came around 9:30PM, followed by the appietizer for us 10 minutes later. The actual food came around 10:00PM. In the mean time they kept serving customers that came after us or the take away orders.
I am so disappointed on this kind of service and behaviour. Two of my family member refused to eat their and went out to near by Pizza shop in the same plaza. I in my usual self told the Mr. business man to make a big frame of his bussiness goals and hang it on the wall so customer would know your values and service. I mean come on, I have seen numerous bussiness meetings in S$P, Tabaq, Shahnawaz, Lin Garden, where sometimes two men sitting for 3 hours and paying a $20 bill only. And here we have ordered full meals for the whole family and we had to see this.
