While surfing the good ol net today i came across this amazing amazing software called Terragen. It is used mainly for creating photo-realistic landscapes. So far it is still in the developmental stages and therefore it is still shareware. Now normally you use it to make images like these two:
These are ofcourse made by professionals with some kickass abilities. So, inspired by these i decided to try my hand at this software and my word it is one heck of an amazing utility! The learning curve is extremely low and it takes anywhere from 10-30 minutes to get the hang of the whole control panel. Heres some of my renderings i made today. These are ofcourse not as great as the ones above but hey, im getting there!

First attempt. I named it Venus Sunrise
[thumb=D]Frozen_Sun2.JPG[/thumb]
Second attempt. Was trying to make a gloomy atmosphere.. cold.. dark.. standing on frozen water.. trapped between huge mountains.. this one is called Frozen Sun
[thumb=D]Misty_Kemari.JPG[/thumb]
Water, Mist.. didnt know what to call it.. first name that came to mind was Kemari Port.. so i name this one Misty Kemari

And finally, my masterpiece of the day (stupid thing took 1 hour to render on my p3). Nothing you see for miles. Just you, the sea and the fast drowning sun.. this ones called Lost at Sea.
Thats all for now! See if you guys are interested you can download the software and try your hand at it. It is extremely easy to use and the results are very rewarding!!!
Well, just made something which is just a step ahead of the above images.
Ethereal Flight (MPEG file. 2.6 MB, right click to download)
Check it out. Took two hours and a half to render 651 stills and that too cuz the picture quality is set to really low. Such is the state of my poor computer! I need more Ghz.. !!! Kher. Mods im sorry this is an external link but there no other way i can post this. Its something made from the same program that was used to create the images above.
