This beautiful project seems to have gone unnoticed. I’m really enjoying it. Script and direction are wonderful. In every scene everybody is performing, it’s not like one or two people are speaking and others are just staring at them. The director (Usama) deserves a lot of credit for covering many people in a frame and still managing it excellently, especially the scenes from Gujrati family.
Story is based on two traditional families, one a Gujrati family and the other a Punjabi family, both severely opposed to marry their kids outside of their respective communities.
I am watching it and it is one of my FAVOURITE plays so far. Mostly new/unnoticed actors performing perfectly. I love how they have worked hard on every single detail.

Yes very true. In one of the scenes where Bappa was missing, Raabo Maasi and Zulekha were crying, Jia had fallen asleep in front of them in an awkward position lying on her tummy, Mehbboob in the background was yawning, clearly depicting that he didn’t care whatever happened to Bappa. It was epic; can’t think of more naturality as shown in this and many many other scenes… really a great job by the creative team.

And the heroine, they seem to be taking extra effort to make her seem undesirable. Fine, she doesn't need to be fair and lovely but don't paint her dark either.

Well of course the concept is ghisa pita, but it’s the presentation that I’ve really liked about it
More than 200 Urdu dramas are shown per week on 14-15 channels in Pakistan, all based on the same old stories with only slight variations and most of them having a very very poor presentation, showing a clear lack of determination or more precisely I should say cheating the audiences blatantly.
whats so fantastic about the presentation?
A gora punjabi? A kaali gujratan? Or a cheap Bhappa? or bhappa ki ladli who will surely suffer at the hands of a controling saas? I dunno - meh at best.
