“terian yaadan aandian nay
tera pyaar kaday nahin bhulda”
eho jihan jooth-mooth dian galan
log kyon maarday firday nay?

jadon tuhanu koee naween aurat mil jaandi hai
jo tuhanu chahndi hai
tuhaday naal mithian-mithian galan kar k
tuhanu fasaana chahndi hai

ya koee ik hor kuri jisdian
ankhian neelian nay
waal sonay wargay nay
tay chamri chitti hai
dhup wargi hai, dudh wargi hai
taan saaray jooth-mooth sabat ho jaanday nay

tay tussin aapni naveen saheli nu
fir o hi gaanay gaanday ho -
“terian yaadan aandian nay
tera pyaar kaday nahin bhulda.”

“I cannot forget you.
I cannot forget your love.”
Why people go on telling
lies after lies?

When you find a new women
who wants you and
talks sweet things to you
to entrap you

Or when you meet a blond
whose eyes are blue
whose skin is white as
milk or is like sunlight,
all your lies then prove to be true -

You sing the same old love
song to your new girl friend:
“I cannot forget you.
I cannot forget your love.”

^ phir tu ye intkhaab main hona chaiey na cuz ye ap ne nahi likhi na ...kher achi hai lakin intkhaab main hona chaiey isay yahan pe sirf ap apni khud se likhi huwei post karen

darwesh - you're welcome. I liked your poems that I translated earlier. I am considering opening an on-going thread, "Urdu Poetry in English Translations".

Moderators - Please suggest where to post, in Inthkhaab or in Sho'ra -e- Gupshup forums? The original Urdu poems will be by well known Urdu poets and also by poets at this site, like 'darwesh' and others.
