According to Hindu Scriptures a head once cut off by Sudarshana chakra cannot be placed back. So it was decided that the head of any animal that comes their way first should be fixed in Lord Ganesha’s torso. It was an elephant that came first. So Lord Ganesha’s torso was fixed with the head of an elephant.

How come god (rather gods) is so helpless in this regard. It looks like a story of a normal fictional character. Right?
