Allah revealed the Zabur (Book of Psalms) to Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him). It contains lessons for the guidance of Israelites. The Holy Qur’an says:
We gave to Dawud Zabur. (4: 163)
Whenever he recited the verses of the Zabur in a sweet melodious tone, the listeners began to dance in a fit of religious frenzy. They Rocked around him and eulogised God in the accompaniment of Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him). Above all the beasts. birds, creeping insects and even mountains were fascinated on hearing the recitation of the hymns from the Zabur. The Holy Qur’an affirms:
“We bestowed grace aforetime on Dawud from Ourselves. O ye mountains! Sing you back the praises of Allah with him and you birds also.” (34:10)
It was We that made the hills declare in union with him Our praises at eventide and the break of day and the birds all with him turned to Allah." (38:18,19)
Iron is hard stuff but in the hands of Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him) it became soft and pliable to be turned into any shape. As an adept craftsman he made coats of mail. Thus the manufacture of this defensive armour is traditionally attributed to the Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him). The Holy Qur’an says:
“It was We who taught him the making of coats of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other’s violence. Will you then be grateful.” (11:80)
“And We made the iron soft for him (commanding) make thou coats of mail balancing well the rings of chain armour and work ye righteousness.” (34:10)
The Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him) was endowed with the knowledge of understanding the tones of the bird. He could talk and listen to the birds just like human beings.
Death and Burial:
The Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him) passed away at the age of 70 years. He was buried in Jerusalem.

By the time of the Mairaaj, the temple was nothing more than rubble and ruin... given that it was nearly 600 years after the Romans sacked Temple Mount, it was probably overgrown with plantlife too.
However, what the Prophet (SAWS) was taken to, and what is referred to in the Quran as Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, is probably some site of worship of some religious group on Temple Mount. It cannot have been the Temple of Solomon itself.
They think they can build their Temple north of the Dome of the Rock, thus destroying neither the Dome of the Rock, nor the Al-Aqsa mosque to the south (just outside the picture).

Which major religion is denied it's "mecca"? All others have theirs. Muslims deny that which they would never accept in turn. The original temple was built to God, not some kufr, pagan fake! The wood was supplied from the great cedars of Lebanon, along with local talent in various trades from the region. It was the major example of Judean architecture in the world, period. For that, I do tend to be in the Jewish court. I would never wish ill of Mecca or Medina, they are yours. Pakistan has their major ediface, built in 1966, which is still a neat piece of modern Islamic style.
Thanks a lot Prisine, but one thing more I was confused the other day, when I saw this movie about "The Prophet Jeremiah", where KING David (I think it must be Hazrat Dawud) was displayed as a power-hungry ruler and "Jeremiah" as a Prophet who tried to convince KING David to follow GOD's word.
Now this is getting a bit confused to me.
I thought both are Prophets, which we Muslims believe in and I thought both were great personalities and teaching GOD's word.
So why such negative display? Is that coz Christians dont respect him?
p.s.: Is he the same King who fought against Babylonia. Right? (Or let ask this, who was the Ruler of the Hebrews at this time?)
History in this period of time makes me confused.

Some of the "prophets" were flawed and Dawud is one of them. Suleiman was as well. Adam is considered by you as a prophet and he made the biggest mistake of all. The Jews did not corrupt scripture and do have a valid antagonism towards this revisionist history of their heritage. I know Islam is based on the concept that the other two got it wrong, but no way could it be that different!
