How does this prove the temperature on earth is hotter than the Sun's core? This experiment to have a sustainable energy source has nothing to do with the earth being hotter than the Sun's core. As far as I know, the Earth's core has been proven to be hotter than the Sun's surface. Where does nuclear fusion occur on Earth naturally?

@Guac. Am not the expert. The truly smart ones here visit once in a while and impart their wisdom. To fill the void, let me attempt to explain better.
In fusion, you supply energy to compress two isotopes of same iyom - in this case dueterium and tritium are isotopes of hydrogen atom.
When the compression reaches a threshold ( in this case 1/35 of original size) high pressure and temperature is the result. Folloeed by lots of energ being released.
(When something is compressed, the pressure builds up within compressed object. The temp of said object also rises. This can be applied to real life. When humans are subject to intense pressure, we do burst sbd lash out. But I digress.

When an object is compressed, if pressure applied is same along ALL directions AND its properties are UNIFORM, in my opinion, it should compress ISOTROPICALLY. The same extent in ALL directions. In fusion, they HAVE NOT reached the ISOTROPIC compression stage.

If isotropic compression achieved, then IGNITION occurs. Now the energy release is self sustaining.

The theory earth temperature is hotter than the center of the sun It is all folks and if it is true then it would be then life will not be possible on Earth. One more thing which I think relevant is that if center of the sun is more cooler then earth then why any space program launched only for sun and why any spaceship landed on the surface of sun and especially in the center of the sun.
