Seems like the pack of lies by the Government are becoming more and more obvious…

KARACHI, Dec 29: The controversy over the manner in which former prime minister Benazir Bhutto died in a Dec 27 attack in Rawalpindi deepened on Saturday night when DawnNews TV aired chilling images of an armed assassin taking a shot at her as she acknowledged the cheers of jubilant party activists from the sunroof of her bullet-proof vehicle.

The government has insisted that Ms Bhutto died when her head slammed against her vehicle by the blast from a bomb. But the Pakistan People’s Party has held that she died from bullet wounds.

**Shot by an amateur photographer, the images telecast by DawnNews TV make it abundantly clear that there was no security cordon around Ms Bhutto’s vehicle.

They show a young clean-shaven man, wearing a waistcoat and dark glasses, inch inconspicuously towards the slow-moving vehicle of Ms Bhutto. Standing closely behind is a man believed to be the suicide bomber with a piece of cloth draped around his face. The first image catches the duo looking straight into the camera.

Another image shows the sharpshooter open fire on the unsuspecting political leader with remarkable aplomb. He is just a couple of metres away from his target. One of the party activists clinging to the vehicle seems to have spotted the assassin, whose upraised hand carries a gun.

The third image shows activists around the vehicle ducking their heads in reflex, suggesting that the gun has been fired. Unfazed, the assassin is still in their midst.

Crucially, Ms Bhutto has disappeared from the sunroof. **And, equally crucially, the suicide bomber has yet to blow himself up.

The unsettling images raise significant questions about the quality of security arrangements made for the former prime minister who narrowly escaped a suicide attack on her homecoming procession on Oct 18.

**The fact that an armed assassin managed to get just a couple of metres away from Ms Bhutto clearly gives the lie to the government claim that she had received a VIP security cover.

Also, the new images seem to lend credence to the assertion made by a close aide of Ms Bhutto who insisted that the opposition leader was shot in the head and neck.

According to the Reuters news agency, Sherry Rehman, a PPP spokesperson, said: **“She has a bullet wound at the back of her head on the left side. It came out the other (side). That was a very large wound, and she bled profusely through that.”
**
Ms Rehman prepared the slain leader’s body for burial.

“She was even bleeding while we were bathing her for the burial. The government is now trying to say she concussed herself, which is ludicrous. It is really dangerous nonsense.”

However, the government stuck to its version, saying Ms Bhutto’s party was welcome to exhume her corpse to check.

All this was also stated by the person sitting next to her in the car..Waseem and others All survived the attack.
Question should be asked of Waseem.....why he did not advise her to stay seated?:(

I mean it was not the first bomb attack on their motorcade, an intelligent person would have learned from the first attack! ...:(

The lapse in Security is totally the Fault of her own advisors and not the Pakistan Govt's!

CNN's video from Friday also shows clearly three gun shots from the pistol by this fair complexion young man wearing black sun glasses almost couple of feet from the rear wheel of the armoured SUV. The first two fires were instantanous, the then he took a whole second and a half to fire the third one. The last probably didn't hit the target since BB was falling down at that time. Then its not clear if the same guy blew himself or was it someone else behind him. But the blast occured within a split second of the third shot and was in the same area.

Seems like person who shot at Bhutto knows the person who took the photograph. He is posing on the first photo. Interesting…

The bomber is believed to be one in the white shawl. The shooter in the sun glasses.

From his angle, if he had hit her, the bullet(s) would have entered through the back of her head or neck and exited through the front.

^ That what Sherry Rehman and others are saying. Initial statement of the doctor was also that the bullet entered from the back of her head damaging spinal cord. Don't know why that doctor changed his statement on Friday.

I don't think he changed his statement, he just said he didn't find any foreign objects inside of her, not that she didn't have a wound. Since Zaradri did not allow for an autopsy, we can't be sure.

I don't even see what difference it makes and why there is a controversy.

why ppl blame the government for everything, BB was dumb enuf to stick her head out of her jeep like the chichora that she was. whats the point of a bullet proof car if ur gonna do that. u cant protect someone who doesnt want to be protected. if she had stayed in the car she wud still be alive.

Lol, now Zardari is to blame for everything that goes against a proper investigation. First get the culprits, then lets discuss on either there was a bullet or not. But Its quite amusing after seeing this pics most of people should see clearly that he hardly can fail his target from this close range. But still many are ready to believe Mr. Cheema the liar of the state.

so what i said was wrong? benazir should be poking her head out of the roof of her car even though she has death threats and a suicide attack on her and then blame the government for not providiing security to her? doesnt anyone remember that her own brother was gunned down on the street WHILE was prime minister. pot calling the kettle black

Cooruption in Pak is rampant, no one party is any more guilty then the other.. All are equal.

Forget her politics, she was a very popular leader and she didnt deserve to die the way she did...
For as corrupt as you think she was, respect her as a human being...

Have the decency to wait atleast a week before you start trashing her... She was just killed the other day man, have some common human decency, thats all. If you are going to critisize her, dont resort to deregatory comments, show some respect and critisize her in a civil manner.

btw the mosty fatal security flaw was her stickign her head out of a bullet proof and bomb proof car right when teh car was by the shooter. i dont think that was a coincidence.

I am also shocked that her jiyalay saw a man raise a gun and did not jump him.

there is def more than meets the eye here, it simply can not be just bad luck that she popped her car when desi assassin was right by her car.

In the latest video aired by Channel 4 and then by other channels like GEO show it clearly , that after the first fire, her hair from left/behind blew in in the air, and then she hit the sunroof..

Geo TV anchor Sana something ( Metrolite girl) bragged for 30 odd times that BB hit sun roof ,, but infact just before hitting sun roof frame, its mor ethan obvious that her hair blew in the air, as if something entered to her hair from behind, then she fell on the sun roof..

Amateur news anchors should not be allowed to comment on such important issues.
