I go to high school.I just had my first day at school.My english teacher was telling us about pilgrims,as she give example about muslim pilgrims goes to Machha.Then she ask, is there any Muslim here in class.We don’t have that much Muslims in school.I was the only one in class.I feel my self kinda ashamed to tell people about my religion.Then when she change the topic,i feel myself sooo embarased,and think about christian, jews.i mean they r not that much afraid,and i think they r much proud.
I feel kinda if i tell them my religion,they think of me as “Terrorist”.I know i shouldn’t say that.People i’m still confused.PLease tell what u all think,either i should persue,or to declare…

oh brother...well when i was in highschool i use to have debate with teachers(history ones mostly) over all kinds of islam related things.
Most people change their names i.e From akbar to alex or marryam to marry.... just to fit in their non-muslim friends. I think thats just not right. I always presented my self in schools and in college as a proud muslim. yes i did encounter some point of that part of my life being said to that "muslims are terrorist" well if you being a muslim is running from those kinda statments who is gona tell that person that real islam does not teach that... and real muslims are NOT terrorist.????????
So do your best study your religion and present it in best way you can...and you will shut their mouths like they never had before.
Off course if you join your self with them doing what they do...than you are no worst than they are. Think about it. Good Luck.

Asalam Alikum brother. We should be proud to say that we are Muslims not ashamed of our self. When ever I get a chance I try to teach people about Islam in school. When I was in 6th grade I I tought my class about Islam instead of my teacher because I was the only Muslim. When I got in 7th and 8th grade I still took some time to come in 6th grade to share my knowledge about Islam. I showed them how we Muslims pray our Namaz(Salat), etc. Now I am in High School, oneday a kid was making fun of Islam and calling Muslims terrists, I through him on the computers and I was almost going to kill him, I was so angry.
Just think about it, Allah has guided you to the straight path and gave you the most beautiful religion Islam, which is the only way to Paradise, and you feel ashamed telling people that your religion is the Truth. May Allah guide us all to the right path and make our faith even stronger, Ameen.

astrosfan- I know what I did was probably wrong, but still anger is anger you cannot possibly control it. I love my religion Islam the most and I get crazy if anyone tries to give any false info on it.
In a Hadith- Holy Prophet Mohammad(S.A.W.) said a strong man is he who can control his anger at a time when he is angry.
In an other Hadith- Holy Prophet Mohammad(S.A.W.) said anger comes from Shatan. If you are standing and you get angry then sit down, if you are sitting down and get angry then stand up. If you are still angry then go and perform wudu.

Most people who are religious, do love their religion the most and get crazy if anyone tries to give false info on it. It's just that people remember what they experience - and if someone experiences aggression, then their eyes will be colored forever against that aggression - no matter how much you try to teach them otherwise.
