So I wanted to ask what can be a polite & indirect way to tell a guy that you like him?

If you tell him, “I like you,” then that’s direct. Op wants indirect.
Tissues, if you smile and talk to him and usually have pleasant/positive interactions with him …then that alone tells him that you don’t mind his company and like him well enough as person. If he has any romantic interest in you at all, he will let you know regardless of how shy he might be. If he likes you strongly enough and if he knows that you’re available, than he won’t let you get away. He’ll do something about it. If he’s not doing anything, then he most likely does not feel as strongly…(sees you as a just a friend). He might develop those feelings in the future, but even then ..let him be the first to tell you. May sound old-fashioned, but I feel there’s a wisdom in it that tends to become more clearer with time.

My mistake! IMHO, not telling a guy in a direct way, just may confuse him. Indirect ways are borderline flirting and beating around the bush, wastes time and effort.

Us men don’t understand indirect signals and cues and stuff, you gotta be upfront about how you feel or drop big hints, however you gotta make sure he finds you attractive which is pretty obvious to girls (i think?)

Just tell him straight, if he doesn’t like you back then move on and look for a nice guy.
