Re: tell us about ur daddy.
My Papa (Allah swt unko jannat naseeb karay) was a very sweet, pious and intelligent man. The greatest gift he gave me was the thirst for knowledge. He loved to read (as do I!) and was a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge. He was very religious, and one of those people I've seen who 100% pure in their devotion to Islam. While we were growing up, he made us read the Bible (Old Testament/Torah & New Testament), taught us about the Bhagawat Gita & Ramayan, the Guru Granth Sahib, etc so that when we were in the position to defend/explain our own faith, we would be educated enough to understand the other person's views. He was also a great lover of the outdoors. I grew up camping outdoors during the summers..my parents, along with the 2-3 other families that made up our small community in the late '70's early '80's would spend many weekends at Turner Falls. Back before their were dedicated farms/facility for qurbani, Papa would do qurbani right in our backyard...hahahaaa!!!
My most cherished memories of Papa are those precious years he was able to spend with his grandchildren. He was the best Nana a child could wish for. When he took early retirement from his gov't job here in the US, he decided to retire in Pakistan, and used his retirement fund to purchase some land outside of Malir. He had begun to build a farmhouse and cultivate the land, which he named "Baagh-e-Ammar" after my son. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could see his dreams come to life...miss you Papa!
