this was in fact the only book he wrote as far as I remember. All his other stuff is in his essays and forewords. but yeah aphorisms in this book about “life” are just amazing…easy to put it in words but hardest to practice…
good read, it was of particular interest as I have been to all the piazzas and churches he noted so it was kinda interesting. I do feel that the whole hassassin angle was built up but then fizzled out.
The Things We Do For Love by Kristin Hannah ....a great story about two women...Author is very expressive and descriptive on the charactors..When I was reading the book I could picture and feel each one of the charactors in the story...I wouldn't recommend it to parents who have gone through miscarraige(s) though....the story is too sad :(
Just finished reading 'Angels & Demons', by the much hyped dan brown of 'the da vinci code'. A great read, very addictive, you cant stop once you pop. Brown tries to unveil the secret of the illumaniti...
So what are you reading apart from the hogwash (with all due respect) on gupshup... ?!?!
I just finished 'zar guzisht' by Mushtaq Ahmed Yusufi.. its said to be his biographical account but mainly about ppl he came across in his career as a successfull banker.
yup its in urdu.. and its more of a humourous episode of the author’s life..
to me yousufi is one of the best ‘Tanz-o-mazah’ writers in urdu.. i simply love his work( which in 4 books i guess. correct me if i m wrong)
for me its 6-7 of 10
Holy Wars By Karen Armstrong. She is absolutely brilliant…A must read for anyone interest in knowing Religious history…
Recently finished: East Pakistan, 1969-1971 The End Game by Brig. (Retd) Siddiqi. Excellent, brief yet informative for readers wishing to know how Pak army, politicians, religious leaders and establishment screwed up OR How not to run a country…
i concur, that would be such a relief, i mean all i am doing is looking up for reviews abt the book if i find the title mentioned is interesting… n start rating also on a scale of 1 (not bad) - 10 (excellent read)
I read it a few weeks ago. It’s o.k. Interesting, but a bit predictable. I don’t recommend you buy it. I would give it a 7/10. The first 100 pages are very difficult to read. After that, the story picks up.
