first of all, i would like to mention that i have seen this prefernece for fair complexion (especially for ladies) way much more in South East Asians than people from any other nationality. I wonder if the reason is us having this inferiority complex of having not PALE GHOST WHITE complexion. I have personally seen a few family friends refuse point blankly to marry a lady who has not so fair complexion...and i would be honest i truly despise this behaviour...ALLAH ka shukar hai i have got fair complexion but i dread the old ritual of the guy' s family coming over to "SEE" the girl and the girl walking into the room with nashta and other go0dies and then the guys' family apoligizes for not liking the girl for the girl isn't AS WHITE AS THEY WANT. it annoys me and frustrates me that these people don't give one single thought to what that girl must be feeling at the moment when she is told the reason why she was rejected....i always knew that i would marry a guy who is beautiful from inside, who is considerate and sensitive and MASHALLAH i have been fortnate that he thinks the same..we both prefer inner beauty rather than having an outer beauty and then turning out to be a real evil and vicious person later on.

P.S. people do have their likings and dislikings and so do i. we all may like somebody for his/her some sort of outstanding quality and may even have a crush on that person but when it comes to real lfe, i prefer to be practical do what my mind tells me rather than the heart.

the conclusion? i despise people who create certain creterion for marriage specially for girls no matter how hideous the guy is .

I'm right in between myself so i can go both ways...not in the way u r thinking u dirty people. People r into interracial fads or used to be, nnow they r back to sticking with their own kind, at least thats the trend i see, u dont see many interracial couples running around that often, so the preference is to stick with sum1 who knows how ur people r and how u think. I'm speaking universally of course...desi's will be desi's of course...goes on in every culture.

those things that are in one's contorl i would definately judge him on those things such as, career, personality etc.

But something as skin color, height, etc is something not in his contorl and i have no damn right to even pass a single comment based on these things...

people forget t hat Allah is watching

I have gone to personality and family values.If i would have to see for my daughter or son i will see family values like how islamic they are?or Are they well mannered,well spoken and then the personality and intellegence.I don't like to go on color,height,smartness (It is ALLAH 'S DEIN)who the hell are we to judge on them.And after marriage the main thing is husband wife understanding and supporting each other in every way.
