I agree to PinkLove, I think a nice way can be through Orkut or Facebook. Create your profile real name etc and add him as a friend. Start scrapping him and things can go from there. I am NOT advising this as a way to have a flirt session, but to try and see if you can eventually find out the possiblity of getting married to the guy you like.
Bye the way, something similar happened to me as well :) though it didn't work out in the end, due to some other reasons, yet it was a good way of knowing the other person and even the end was a very amicable breakup.
