I have had one last week from U.A.E based employer. It went well(though I am yet to take a call on the salary part). What are the tips and modes in a Telephonic interview?
Re: Telephonic inteviews
Good luck with the role Arli ..
The only two sdifference between face to face interview and phone interview:
- Appearance does matter and help form an opinion quickly ..its an added benefit that you dont have in phone interviews.
- you get to gauge the body language and expressions of the interviewer and sometimes it can help you answer accordingly ... something missing from the phone interview.
So keeping these points in mind , you got to focus on yourself and your presentation.
Sound confident, make an effective conversation. the phone interivews dont last for very long so you must try to remain to the point yet ensure that you have given them an idea of your individuality and soft skills.
Speak slowly and clearly and ensure the other person understands your accent and what you are trying to say.
try to make it a two way conversation ,rather then a one way ... Its harder to keep a person interested in your profile over the phone ... coz if within the first few minutes they feel, they dont like you or understand what you are saying , they will lose interest ... so you must sound brilliant from the point "go"
So yeah .. thats pretty much it .. Good luck.
Re: Telephonic inteviews
so you’re in the interviewing process for a UAE based company?
CB made some really good points
make sure you speak clearly and in terms of accent, pronunciation can be different for certain english words so keep a check on that and practice.
here’s a video that might be helpful
this guy really helped me out with my phone and technical interview this past week and i wasn’t as nervous as i would’ve been
Hope it goes well for you
