This is bad news. The new govt has made a admirable effort to make peace with the tribes in FATA, but it seems that Al Qaida monsters don’t want this.

PESHAWAR: Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has cancelled its peace deal with the government of Pakistan on Monday. The government has failed to implement promises made under the peace accord, Taliban spokesman Moulvi Muhammad Umar said in a statement.
The government has not pulled down its troops from tribal areas as it had promised under the agreement, which shows the intentions of the government about enforcement of the deal, he added.

Why do our govts make promises they can't fulfill? This is what causes mistrust and will keep us in trouble.
I hope they didn't make such a promise, and I hope that the militants only misunderstood what the government said to mean such a thing.
No Pakistani government should ever give in to blackmail to control its policies. If the Taliban want the army not to be deployed there, they should take part in the political process and vote and build and use influence in the government to affect where the government send its troops.
If you try and use guns to influence the government, you are rebels and your rebellion must be crushed, smashed, and utterly destroyed so that the peaceful political process an take root instead.
