Re: Teeth Whitening

go to your dentist, they will bleach your teeth for 250 bucks

Re: Teeth Whitening

I buy these ones from this website. Delivery is pretty quick and I used a 10% off code last time: Crest 3D Whitestrips Professional Effects Non Slip Strips for Brown or Yellow Teeth

Re: Teeth Whitening

Brush teeth with raw honey. When honey mixes with water, it produces hydrogen peroxide.

Re: Teeth Whitening

I'm scared it hurts :S

And with some other stuff on the market that's 1/2 the price and maybe gives result, I'd like to try out alternatives so that I can save some money.

No one's tried smilesciences? (they're on instagram and seem to have a pretty big following)

Re: Teeth Whitening

^ Did you read my reply? You might just need scaling and polishing...when was the last time you had that done?

Re: Teeth Whitening

if they're just coffee stains then all you need to do is book a regular cleaning with your dentist.. that's what the regular cleaning and polishing is meant for lol. and to maintain it you should floss regularly and use crest white strips

Re: Teeth Whitening

oops, I must've missed yours...but I saw it now!

So when I went to the dentist (3 months ago), my teeth DID get a little lighter but they said I would most likely need them whitened because my enamel is inherently yellow. So the coffee stains are making it more obvious but my teeth are yellowed to begin with. He suggested doing the trays + paste but I didn't know if he was just trying to get me to buy his stuff or what.

Re: Teeth Whitening

Soconfused: You're overthinking this. You already have/use Sensodyne which is good. Crest Whitestrips are like $40. Go get a pack and try it for a few days. They don't hurt. Worse case scenario they'll make you teeth sensitive and if that's too uncomfortable for you......you simply stop using it. Who knows.....your teeth may not get super sensitive and you may actually like the results enough to stay with them. Which will save you money.

P.S. You're right about scaling/polishing. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months (including scaling/polishing). I'm not even a coffee drinker but the whitening I get from the cleaning is nothing compared to what I got from the hydrogen peroxide treatment.

Re: Teeth Whitening

Crest strips gave me a much more noticeable result than what's on Smilescience's IG page.. Those smiles just look normal to me, not "wow, her teeth look amazing" :D

Re: Teeth Whitening

which crest whitestrips were you using? I think i'm gonna place an order!

Re: Teeth Whitening

Just got my whitestrips, will update on the results! (thank god for amazon prime!)

Re: Teeth Whitening

You can always go to the dentist and most of them now have free teeth whitening that they will do when you go in for a checkup.
I did use crest whitestrips and found my teeth noticeably whiter within 2-3 weeks but the drawback was the teeth sensitivity.
But when I got my teeth whitening kit from my dentist, it didn't happen plus they make you those trays for your teeth so it fits perfectly on your teeth.
That is an option if you want to go that route.

Re: Teeth Whitening

I was debating between the dentist trays vs crest and the dental ones cost $125 and she said they'll make my teeth sensitive too so I figured I'd save the 100 dollars (I got a good deal on teh crest strips) and try the cheaper option first since it worked for everyone! I'm using sensodyne for a week or so before I attempt because my teeth are really sensitive in general

Re: Teeth Whitening

Oh that's too bad :(
I don't know how it works though for the US but here in Canada if you go in for a checkup most places offer free teeth whitening. The only reason why I considered it was because it didn't cause teeth sensitivity for me.
The crest strips do work though, the sensitivity might just be a bit of a problem, but if it's something you want to do for good pictures then I guess just bear through it? lol.

Re: Teeth Whitening

just wanted to say that I used them 5x so far and my teeth are noticeably whiter. Not model/tv star white, but the yellow is gone so I can wear red lipstick without being self conscious :D

Re: Teeth Whitening

Any sensitivity?

Re: Teeth Whitening

I actually have had problems with sensitivity in the past because I brush really hard but a few months ago my dentist told me to switch to an electric toothbrush + sensodyne and I've been fine. There were 2 days (the 3rd and 4th strip) that I used the strips without leaving a day in between and my tooth felt kinda achy. I stopped and switched back to every other day and it's been fine! I'm sure I'm getting the results slower but I'd like to be able to drink my coffee in the morning without suffering from pain!

Re: Teeth Whitening

Hey! I might be a little to reply but a few months ago I got my teeth whitened. And let me tell you it was painful. I went in their thinking it'll be fine and the doctor didn't mention anything to me either and just told me to relax, but during the process I wanted to take out all of the equipment from my mouth and run away! Afterwards, I mentioned the deadly pain that I went through to the doctor and he is like you have 'gingivitis' and thats what caused the pain. I was in pain and my mouth was numb for 3 days.
I swore to myself, Ill never get it done again. If you do plan to get it, make sure you don't have any other issues going on with your teeth. Strips are the best option though.
