Teeth straightening

Salam Everybody,

I need some advice about my teeths ? How long does this take to get them straightened ? Actully I m going to Pakistan in a couple of months & I m thinking to see a Dentist there …

what If you have only a couple of teeths which are not in order & you have got space on the back of those teeths ?? Can this be done in a couple of months?? It’s really frustrating because it’s something that I am so concious about. Did any of you got this done in Pak … if yes then how much did it cost you ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Re: Teeth straightening

If you need ur teeth moved then it wont take a couple of months, as it may take a year or so depending on each person.

Re: Teeth straightening

It takes a different amount of time for different people. Make an appointment with an orthodontist, they will examine your teeth and see what needs to be done

Re: Teeth straightening

Walikum Assalam.

Andy, do you have any overbite or underbite? Are your upper jaw and lower jaw aligned and only the teeth need straightening out?

When you mentioned a couple of teeth which are not in order, are those the back teeth or the front? If you have space between the teeth in either upper or lower, then maybe the jaws are not aligned properly? There are all kinds of braces these days, transparent ones, colored braces, to anyone's liking. Yes, a couple of months is a reasonable timeframe.

Re: Teeth straightening

Depends on which teeth you need straightened (incisors or molars), and your age.

Incisors (both central and lateral) are easier and quicker to straighten, and the younger you are, the quicker it will take. However, molars take much longer, and in some cases, dentists simply prefer to uproot errant molars that are too way off track.
In any case, the whole process can take you any where from 6 months to 2 years.

Yes, I’ve got the braces because my front lower teeth were crowded…and I had a deep bite…got them from Dental Professionals, Lahore (Dental Professionals --:-- Welcome). I would have to pay Rs. 100,000/- in total, 50% down payment and rest as installments at my monthly re-adjustments. I got them around 2 years ago, and would have to wait for a few more months before they are removed…but it varies from patient to patient. So you should see an orthodontist, and if you are coming to Lahore, Dental Professionals is the best place I’ve found here.

Good luck!

Re: Teeth straightening

i wore braces for 2 years..
now i wear retainers to bed - and they still shift
Don't chew gum often, and consult an orthodontist for other ways -
you can get removable retainers that help if your teeth arent that bad

Baigette, is this your first set of retainers?

And you said they still shift, does that mean your teeth still shift even when you are using retainers?

If you had braces for two years and your teeth are shifting now even with the retainers, not much hope left for those who are looking to get braces.
