Does anybody has the issue of grinding teeth while asleep?
I do ![]()
I do it mostly when I’m stressed out!
In the morning my Jaws hurt and so does my head! I tried using the mouth guard but it’s a torture! ![]()
This grinding is affecting my teeth as well!
Any remedies beside the mouth guard?
Re: Teeth issues!
I used to, until I had a custom made nightguard/ splint made for my bottom teeth, that was more comfortable than the mouthguard and it helped heal any muscle strain. I don't know what happened to it because I've been looking for it for a couple of years now. I need to get a new a one just for maintenance. Hopefully it heals for you too. They say eating soft foods, not drinking caffeinated drinks helps.
This is actually quite common. Iv been told I do it on the odd occasion as does my dad. Would be interesting to hear a fix even if it is short term
Re: Teeth issues!
Calm your stress levels or get the splint made by your dentist.
Re: Teeth issues!
My husband does. It's torture!!! Sounds like breaking glass. Ugh.
Get a custom mouth guard made at your dentists. They're suppose to be much more comfortable.
As uzzy said, yo need to work on bringing your stress level down. Plus avoid food with lots of sugar or caffeine in it.
Re: Teeth issues!
i went through the EXACT same thing a few months ago prairiegirl!!!
eventually went through my dentist to get a custom mouth guard made for my bottom teeth and wear it nightly (she even recommended wearing it throughout the day, as i've been really stressed at work).
i wear it at nights only so far and it helps!! my headaches have gone away and so has the tension in my jaw.
