So how comes teenagers are labelled as rebels, rude, hormonally crazed, gangster typpa thugs…you get the idea. Teenagers are from 13-19! That’s a varied age group, so I don’t understand how a 13 year old can be the same as a 19 year old? We still come under the same category and yet at the site of teens you’d probably roll your eyes and tut. (Except me, I come under the nearly teenager category for some people on here don’t I? )
After saying that, I find it extremely rude and disrespectful when people downgrade teens…because please open your eyes and see that all teens are not constantly hormonal, disrespectful to their elders, and wannabe gangsters. Some of the teenagers have actually grown up and want to make something of themselves..yeah?
And those who do label teens as that, honestly can you say you were an angelic little teen once too?

P.S - And maybe, just maybe if you look close enough…some teenagers are more mature than adults! Will ya look at that…Oh Emm Gee!
Classing all teens as manics isnt really fair ... but... then most teens are little monsters during those few years ...
One thing is for sure though, its all evident in the way one presents themself, for example, a teenager acts bullish, talks like gangsters, wears a freaking low trouser, loong hair will automatically be classed as rowdy ! no matter how much sense he makes , no one is gonna believe him.
On the other hand, a teenager behaves well with the elders, respects others around him and is well presented , speaks intelligently, people around arent going to be mad enough not to recognize an intelligent and a shareef child ...
Inshort, one earns a good reputation, otherwise its all bad reputation ! and hence the generalization.
i agree with you. some people at the first sight of a teenager compare them to a 5 year old mentally, but like cb said it depends on how one looks (yes i know would should not be judged at face value but it happens anyway) and on the reputation of that teen
Sometimes certain people have to face problems because of situations others create. If you look at the Home Office reports, the peak age of offending lie in the teeange years. Not every teenager is a troublemaker but unfortunately people start believing that young people from a certain age group are all the same.
To be honest, when I see a chav in the street I don't think highly of them because of the image they have created for themselves, the same applies elsewhere.
I so agree with Mama ki Dua … its the same for me , I actually change my route when i see two or more teenagers standing in the street speaking loudly or wearing hoods !
