They'll spend some time behind bars, and will be out again soon.

I doubt if there is a life imprisonment for rape.

What system are you referring to? The "caste system" is still practiced by Muslims in this country, and it is accepted by almost everyone.

Please don’t assume things. And most imp of all there is NO caste system in Islam
unlike Hinduism and if even "some of" the “so called” Muslims do practice it then they are at fault and not the religion.
For the rest of ur post plzz refer to the article I mentioned earlier.
besides, the whole idea of my post was ONLY to point out the difference b/w the attitudes of the two “governments” under discussion.
b/w ur post seems to be written with such anger and hatred that it leaves the viewer to think if it had to do something with ur personal experience. i might be wrong ofcourse.

The most heatening thing in the whole episode is the innocents in both camps who will suffer the most..
the girl whose pics are been shown all over news media clearly against Islamic and Pakistani law.. Police have captured many innocents from the rapists camp and are torturing them.. mother and sister of one of the accused are locked behind bars in order to apply pressure.. dunno what will happen to their future.. is there any difference between that panchait and police actions.. none !

Did I ever blame Islam for supporting the "caste system"? Its the Muslims who have customized Islam to suit their needs, and I blame them for accepting the "caste system". And yes I am very angry and I do hate them for what they've been doing.
Just because the media exposed this issue, it does not mean that this is the first incident of its kind that took place in Pakistan. If the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is unable to convey the simple message that "the caste system" is UnIslamic, then they are to be blamed too.
And people who have committed this "sad and shocking" incident in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, should be stoned in public, even life-imprisonment is not enough for these creatures.
My main point is that "The Islamic Republic of Pakistan" should be referred to as "Republic of Pakistan"! Because we are not representing Islam! We have Muslims committing "SHIRK" openly and yet we find the "maulvi's" and the Muslim Government silent...!

What pictures of this girl are being shown all over the media that you think its ag/Islam and Pakistani law?

. her pic was shown at CNN.. In order to safeguard repute of the girl and her family Islam forbids undue publicity.. In Pakistan courts have given clear directions many times not to rteveal names and identity to public..u might had seen newspapers using coded names in these types of cases..
First of all I found this accident very disturbing and shocking that something like this could happen in an islamic country!! These kinds of things happen if the Mullahs and the tribal leaders are given power to decide over matters that should only be solved through law & order organisations.
Secondly the picture of the raped girl is shown all over the world. I saw her covered in a burkah with her mom and brother with the women minister in our local paper with a thick headline of what had happened in a pakistani tribal village.
Lastly the gang who were involved in the gang rape should be given the highest punishment in such a crime.
rvikz, my intention of mentioning a islamic country was directed towards the muslim population and not the politics. The sad event that took place was in no way justified in our islamic teachings, so this is the reason why I said I am suprised and shocked that such an action can take place in an islamic environment.

this post of urs really amazes me rvikz.. SaadiaB already replied to this but i had to say this..
what exactly are u trying to imply over here?
soo keeping ur analogy in view & the recent *incident* which took place
in Gujrat answer me this.
****is this what happens in a hindu majority india??
*****since there is no other country which can come into the category of a "Hindu Country" soo i should assume that it only happens in india??
don't get me wrong over here..i am not trying to bash anybody..hope u got my point!
***I dunno where I'm going. I dunno what for. But I'm making progress.
what i am saying is there is no commonality
between islamic countries .
pre-islamic culture of the respective
countries has some continuity.
do they celebrate virginity of the newly wed women in pakistan like in arab countries
by waving bloody first night clothes?
so there are some uiniqe practices peculiar
to every society.
