Peace again bro Spock
Again … it is the not the lack of contraception in itself. Look putting it simply. Let’s group people in classes:
a) Will not have sex very early before marriage or until later even if they had the opportunity to do so, based on religious or moral convictions
b) These people will NOT have sex because there is high risk of becoming pregnant if they did
c) Others would still have sex, but seek and use contraception
d) Will have sex and actively seek to avoid contraception for whatever reason
When contraception availability is high some people from d) will move into category c) which is what you are saying, but what I am saying is that some people from category b) will move into c).
Contraception is an industry and it is intended to maximise its use and sales. However, contraception is also not 100%. Let’s say when contraception availability is low then the numbers in groups b) c) and d) will be x, y, z. However, when availability is high then we will get
b) = x - delta(x), d) = z - delta(z) and c) = y + delta(x) + delta(z).
Because some of b) and d) move into c)
Approx 95% of contraception works so in low contraception availability the numbers pregnant in this category will be 0.95 * y, however, the numbers pregnant in this category will increase due to additions from b) and c) in high availabilities of contraception.
There will be a net fall in the d) people admitted … but more emphasis is being made to convert the b)'s in to c)'s. Additionally the type of education as I have earlier shown from the videos encourages a shift in all categories upwards. So a)'s become b)'s and b)'s are more likely to become c)'s and c)'s to become d)'s.
By the combined effect of inadequate sex education i.e. not stressing the moral obligation of abstinence and encouraging promiscuity (no religion mentioned) then you will get the observed increase that facts are showing. Of course this is the reason why the figures are increasing. Otherwise we would see a decrease not an increase had contraception or current types of sex education been of any benefit.
How can I possibly assume you are a vulcan? Though I said it … I hope it was clear that it was a ‘statement made in jest’. I understand Star Trek to be fictional. I’ll ignore the inferences about me resembling the Mullahs.
