I’ll tell you, when I used to work full time at a hospital, part of what I used to do was putting together presentation material for the physicians. It was so hard for some of them to do a simple and effective slideshow right from a laptop hooked up to a projector instead of loading the 35mm slides on a carousel and hooking it up to a projector which was not only costly but once u got a slide, u can’t change it at that point. The tech savvy ones were happy and moved up quickly. What I’m trying to say is that if we train our kids to adapt early on in life, whatever profession they are in, they will assimilate easily. There’s technology everywhere. Look at schools now. My 6 year old operates a smart board with ease. She has to. It’s the need of the times. In the words of the Borg, resistance is futile!

My sister told me about this family, both parents are docs , their 3 kids, 2 sons and 1 daughter all are docs. OK, first son didn’t want to study medicine but they forced him to go in medicine. He completed A levels in 5 years which normally people finish in 2 years. They pushed him to must study science and be a doctor.Finally, he has become a doctor ,God knows after how many years. When i heard this story , I told my sister ayyh no you better let your child study what they like to. No point of forcing them or to make some thing must for them that they don’t have interest in.
If kids are interested in some field since their childhood, I bet you they 'll find no difficulty afterwards. And same goes for your girls,they seem interested, do send them in IT.

People were saying that ebooks and technology adaptation by older adults is going to be slow. But now I see that everywhere. Very soon you won’t be able to go out of the house without knowing tech. Don’t compare tomorrow with how our training was. The rate of change in technology is getting faster. What happened in 50 years started happening in 10 years, what used to change in 5 years now progress in 1. Think about it, 7 years ago there was no iPhone, 5 years ago there was Facebook.

Amish still live on, don’t bring that culture into our community!
