SHOUT OUT to all the super helpful designers and fashion enthusiasts on this forum
Hi y’all
So my sister in law recently ordered a really nice jora for her valima with a home based designer. Now although the jora has turned out really nice, the bridal dupata has no facing on the inside of the border. This makes it look really untidy as you can see the threads and all..
When she asked the designer ,her reply was that the border has lots of cutwork and if she places a lining on the back of the border (mostly jamawar is used i think), the cutwork will not show.
Is this true for all cutwork based kaam or is she just getting it over with since the payment has been made?
I really want to know if there is a way to go around this?
well....it's valid that the cutwork will not show through if you put a lining behind it.
unless you are expecting that the cutting should go through the lining...which I have never, ever seen. perhaps a designer here can elaborate as they will have seen many more outfits and designs than I have.
She is right with cut work there is no lining, however the work needs to be done neatly and excessive thread etc. needs to be cut. However, if you don't want cut work then you can simply get finishing of jamawar or any other fabric you like.
