Technical/medical/religious question

Yes, if taken the literal meaning.

Another explanation can be that his prophethood, his influence, his teachings, his followers lasted for that long.

It’s possible. However, I know that this whole age issue was different then as it is today.

Nes-- I very much doubt if the info gathered is false. The fact is the information is accurate, but people mess up with the calculations.

for me, this isn't the right frame of mind to tackle this problem. If we want to approach it scientifically, we should be ready to question all variables

So if you have accurate info (that is if you're a Muslim and believe in what has been revealed)- what type of science asks you to look at it as flawed? But then some people will consider science over religion- I suppose thats when problems arise.

note the quoted part: can you bring to my attention a REVELATION where the abovementioned ages are mentioned?
if it is a revelation, i believe it blindly, cuz that's the basic dogma on which my science is based. if it something else than revelation, it is a mere variable :-)

wait a minute ....

There is no religious issues here !

If there is one, then it is related to female anatomy and medical facts

There may be errors in the ages of some personalities(we can take them into account), But logically, there can not be HUGE difference.

Re: Technical/medical/religious question

the holy prophet's life were an examplery life for all the people.

more over he did not have to follow certain obligations... like ordinary people.....e.g. marrying only 4 women

there were many exceptions in his life ..... this could be one of them.

note hiccup's inability to differentiate between bold and normal words in my previous post.

I'd like to answer in detail but dont feel like. It's a boring question cz the possibilities are infinite. Life those days cannot be compared with today. People lived longer, were healthier and who knows the female menopause years were longer than 60. BTW, few days ago, I read a news in the paper that some Japanese woman gave birth after her menopause so..... anything is possible. There are several cases we are not even aware of. Anything is possible in His world. We cant argue with our limited knowledge.

note the erronous differentiation between quoted words and words I added in that particular post, if after all, these combined make up a 'post'.

You are quite right, there are many posibilities.

As of today, we know that maximum age for child bearing is around mid 40s. In villages it may be upto 50. So there is not huge difference left.

And monkeys ! please take the banana and play with it :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh wait… One monkey, One banana … No hanky panky :nono:

Ill be killed on this forum for bringing this up ...

..But..its not generally agreed upon that she was forty when they married. or even in the third decade. sunnis say that. shias say otherwise ive heard.

as for is it possible..well menopause occurs around fifties. but anything ordained by Allah swt will happen.

kindof kindof out of context, but history is written by the winners. read 'the davinci code' its been banned by the vatican. but ull get what i mean.

Re: Technical/medical/religious question

This thread is being addressed now (2 years later :D ) as it is being referenced in current Religion thread.

What was age of wife of Hazrat Zakariya AH when she gave birth to Hazrat Yahya?

Re: Technical/medical/religious question

This information is not correct. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) had four daughters with Khadija who survived into adulthood: Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, Fatima, and Zainab, and two sons who died as young children: Abdullah and Qasim.

Re: Technical/medical/religious question

This is not correct. The Prophet (saw) and Khadijah had six children together, Zainab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, and Fatima.
They had two sons, Qasim and Abdullah, neither of whom survived young childhood.
