Tech Support

You notice all techs are desi sounding? Ie Dell. Stupid jack asses cant do anything.

My friend (Indian) phoned up Dell's UK tech support line, and quickly realised that he was in fact speaking to a guy from his home town, Bangalore.

The reason why all techies at Dell sound Indian is because....

drumroll

They're probably in India :D

Actually that’s true… Indians learn to be Brad and Britney

This is true; many companies in states and Canada have the same setup. When you call their 1-800 # for tech support or to place an order the call actually end up in another country. Not only Dell, but some major companies have the same setup.

GE Capital - Call Centre located in India
Linksys - Call Centre located in Philippines
Logitech - Call Centre located in Mexico
Nexinnovation - Call Centre located in India
Microsoft - Call Centre for majority of products located in India
IBM - Call Centre located in India

There are many companies with well-established call centres in 3rd world countries in order to save FTE cost and issues related to HRIS. Can you imagine the salaries and bonus that "Big Companies" usually pay to tech support of 10 FTEs in States is sufficient enough to keep whole fleet of techies in 3rd world country like India and Pakistan? Interesting isn’t it… but its all about cutting down the cost.
