I am a huge fan of combat/war movies, but have yet to see this film. Has anyone seen it, if so how is it?
the movie is nicely done. Though Monica Belluci is misfit but over all not bad an effort.
I saw it last week and didn't find it all that. I hate it when a hero with the supposdly dark, mesterous and kinda evil personaility turns good half way through the movie and all of sudden starts doing humane thing. I mean if he's bad, he's bad like Caster Troy of Face/Off.
Is it another US glorification movie?
you got it.
Saw it a few days ago and was a bit disappointed with the directing by Fuqua - He can do a lot better like in Training Day. Its basically a war message movie in the Black Hawk Down mold. Its meant to educate the American audience of the atrocities in African countries, I suppose. It glorifies a group a tough Navy SEALS when they go to rescue an American hottie err I mean a Doctor. Then they witness ethnic cleansing and are morally compelled to go back and fight the rebel forces and free the refugees.
If you are hoping to see combat action like in Saving Private Ryan or Thin Red Line you are in for a disappointment.
Finally saw this film the other day. It was alright, nothing too special. I’m not too big of a Bruce Willis fan either. It ended up being what I thought it would be, another US glorification film. ![]()
