How do the members feel, I think the selection of Shoaib ahead of Saqlain was wrong. How can Pakistan leave out their premier bowler. The four seamers, i.e. Akram, Waqar, Razzaq and Mehmood should have been adequate for the job. The inclusion of not a totally fit Shoaib was neither warranted nor justified. Pakistan might yet end up paying for the exclusion of Saqlain. In the end they had to turn to the part time spin bowling of Younis Khan.
Whats so special with Shoaib Akhtar.. anyway? Why do our selectors and captain give him so much leeway… ?
Is it because they are under the misconception that by just keeping him in the playing eleven, the other team will be psychologically under-pressure?

Sorry to burst their bubble… but they over-rate him… he is just another bowler, who can’t keep himself fit, and doesn’t ball very accurately either. With change of action, he may have lost his speed too… Good riddance, what a show off!
ps. And Sobi, I really don’t care what a hunk he might be. I am talking about his cricketing skills
Picking shoaib was a mistake, and I agree that Saqlain should have been picked.
However England is also playing wihtout a spinner and they are playing with 4 seamers so they have even less options then Pakistan in this test. So that’s a consolation.
But having said that, I still can’t get over having to see younis khan bowl with Saqlain sitting in the dressing room.
Well actualy the deal was that rain came the first day of the test and the selection committee thought that Saqlain would not be the good choice to bowl on a rainy pitch so they selected Shoaib.
What ever happend to M.Sami, he was doing really good, he should have been the replacement of Saqlain.
