I sooo get where your coming from. Whenever I’ve told family/friends that I’m going to do a teaching degree at uni next year, I get the funniest (in a bad way) looks. I get told I can be “anything” I want to, why would I pick teaching out of all careers, its typical and apparently its worse because I’ve picked Primary education (teaching kids aged 5-11). And no matter how much I try to explain my views on teaching and the reasons behind me wanting to do it, its useless because they aren’t willing to see things from any other perspective that different to theirs. Silly people :hinna:
I say you go for it!! I’ve heard mom say “its a form of ibaadat”. Next time someone gives you a funny look, tell them that.
And just laugh it off… no need to get upset… I mean even nursing is a s**t career as far as desis are concerned but its one of the most popular courses in the irish universities and also one of the hardest ones to get in to.
Teaching is a great career provided that you do justice to it. Always keep in mind the kind of teacher Hazrat Mohammad s.a.w. was…
I most definitely am going for it, i'A. I just find it strange that people actually think that way about teaching. Oh well, their words should always go in one ear and out the other, eh? :)
