I can’t believe a student would write such a thing, let alone a teacher encouraging such an attitude. Hats off to their Principal for taking immediate action.

Two teachers at an Islamic school in Ottawa have been suspended for allegedly encouraging hatred against Jews.

The teachers at Abraar School praised a student essay about killing Jews in Israel and martyrdom.

The student’s eight-page story was about avenging last year’s death of Sheik Ahmed Yassin, one of the founders of the Hamas terrorist movement.

It included a cover page illustrated with a burning Star of David, a machine gun and a Palestinian flag flying from the top of the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic shrine in Jerusalem. The handwritten Arabic text next to the shrine read: “With the call of God is the Greatest, the flag of Zionism will fall and will be destroyed.”

One teacher was reportedly involved in the “artistic production” of the story. The other read the story and wrote on the title page: “God bless you, your efforts are good… The end will be soon when God unites us all in Jerusalem to pray there.”

School principal Aisha Sherazi said the school board and administration were “shocked” by teacher involvement in the project and that the school does not condone this kind of thinking.

“Encouraging or inciting hatred is strictly prohibited at our school,” she said in a prepared statement. “We will take all measures to investigate this matter and ensure that it does not reoccur.”

Sherazi said the school decided at an emergency meeting to suspend the instructors.

Sherazi declined to name the student or the teachers, for privacy reasons, until the investigation is complete.

Excellent decision by the principal, good to see that they took actions to remedy the situation. However, I wish the same would be done when Muslims are all portrayed as terrorists or potential terrorists.

I'm completely disgusted that this kind of hatred was brewed into their little kids by their parents and on top of that encouraged by their teacher. I can't say im surprised but i am disgusted nonetheless.

Just wondering, how many such actions have been taken when hatered against muslims were encourage thru school, parents, media, friends or neighborhood etc? do we have some stats? or they never hate muslims

Can’t take action against it because hatred in any form against Muslims falls under the act of bravery, freedom and liberation. It would rather be commended than detested.

What's wrong with being anti-Zionist? Killing innocent Jews is wrong but nothing wrong with hating the Zionist regime, it has persecuted enough Palestinians and it occupies the sacred land where our third most holiest Mosque lies, every true Muslim would want to see that land liberated.

Those kids were only all talk about killing Jews whilst Jews are actually doing it to Muslim Palestinians in their own land, bulldozing their houses, raping their women and slaughtering their babies.

I don't see any of you complaining and whinning about Muslim persecution

Ranjhan, . Why would they publicise such a thing, obviously the story leaked and the media decided to play it up. It’s a small school - only 200 kids.

Yes it is wrong to say “death to the Jews”, because dear its happening on both spectrums ie Muslims killing Jews. Imagine breeding that into a 10 year old kid - Jews are bad bad bad, they should all die!! Jews and Muslims should be living together harmoniously. Why deny them a right to what is a holy land to them as well.

We muslims are becoming much afraid of taking them on, or even supporting the cause of ending evil.

If a little kid knows the struggle of Palestine, then thats good. Atleast when he grows up, he’ll do something about it then to be a fat lazy muslim like us, who can only talk about the peace this and peace that of the middle east.

Whats wrong with you guys? Teaching little children to kill jews or anyone else for that matter isn't justified, no matter what. Those parents and teachers have to realize that they are living in Canada, not afghanistan. We don't teach people to kill each other here. If you can't teach your kids to co-exist peacefully in this country than you are welcome to leave. No one will miss you for that. I'm glad the principal made it public. This should send a message to all islamic schools out there that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.

This is why I won't ever send my kids to an Islamic school. I don't want them to be surrounded by ideologies consisting of hatred and justifiable homicide/genocide. It's wrong to teach children to kill. Yes, educate them about how Muslims are treated across the world, but I'll also teach them love and compassion, which they obviously must not be learning in those schools..

They are brother, they are much ahead of us in this matter.
Normal schools in America and Canada, are already implementing ideologies into everyday learning.
