i will be inshAllah teaching english to grade 7 and 8th.I am excited but a bit tensed as this is my first ever teaching experience to elementary.could u teachers plz plz give me some tips on how to start my class?what should i do that students remain under control in class?any other useful advice? thank you

Hi Ainee, sorry for the lack of response here.
Many years ago I taught for a short while. It was high school classes that I took. I am just going to give you a very generic advise as I feel a lot more professional approach response can only come from a teacher who has sufficient experience in this field.
Depending on which country you are in, have you been given a set curriculum? spend sometime preparing your notes on how you will structure your lesson. It really helps.
Be clear and creative in the way you explain things to students. Since its a new class, introductions will help. Get the students to see the helpful and understanding side of you yet the strict and fully in control side of you as well. Communicate well with them.
There will always be students in your class that will take alot more time to understand things, you have to ensure you speak clearly and observe your class carefully so you know who the A players are and who the B players are .. after a few days you might need to give some extra attention to the ones who are B players and slightly lagging behind.
I used to spend alot of time thinking ahead of the class on how best I could explain a new topic. The words to use. The strategy to implement without losing myself in too much detail or abstract information.
Ask questions from Students , make it interactive , so that they understand things clearly and you can find out how much they are absorbing .
