Tea Party ...... Need Ideas

Hi,

I am planning for a tea party on my daughter’s birthday, every year it was lunch or dinner but I want to change the theme and menu.

My menu will be

Mini Burgers

Puff Pastry palmers

Variety of cookies

Cake

Soft drink

Tea

etc

Need ideas of some finger food to serve, thanks in advance.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

This seems pretty complete. What more are you looking for?

Are the guests primarily kids or adults?

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

The guests are ladies and kids, and the party will be in afternoon, so I want some finger food that’s is substitute of light meal like chicken patties or spring roll etc.

Chicken x cheese fingers? Skewered Chicken and veggies roasted or grilled?

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

If you want to add more, you add chicken nuggets and potato wedges.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

Chicken nuggets and fries usually is a big hit with kids. I was going to say sandwiches but you have mini burgers on the menu, it should be either of these.
As someone else said menu seems to be complete.
Hope all goes well.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

what are potato balls?
sounds very interesting…
are they made from mashed potatoes?

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

Muzna our family calls them bonday, boiled potatoes cooked with chopped onions rayee kari patta and other spices and made into balls dipped in besan and fried. I am sure there are other versions too, like with soya sauce chicken and cheese!

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

now there’s something I’ve never tried…

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

I know in Karachi that potato balls are called batata…they are delish and very easy to make.

In our family we just make a mixture of mashed potatoes with salt, pepper, crushed dhaniya seeds, red pepper, chopped cilantro, thinly sliced onions. Make small or medium sized balls. Make a besan batter, dip the balls in the besan mixture and fry them till golden brown.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

You can even make some fried chicken or chicken pakoras, but with kids Chicken nuggets or chicken pops can be more relished idea. You can also have either kachey qeemey kay kabab or shami kabab. Potato noodle puffs can be a unique item to add to menu too.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

Muzna, these are yummmyyyy. And you can make variations with cheese if you want too I’d think.

Ooh I love aalo bonday. You can do mini shepherd pies and you can do mini Keema wontons shaped like a purse.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

There are so many things you can make in muffin tins! ^ Mini pies, quiches, eggs, cupcakes, cookies, etc etc etc.

Re: Tea Party … Need Ideas

I had a similar birthday for my son’s birthday. I’d probably add potato wedges, a couple of interesting salads, and some fruit skewers.
