Is it true?
Do different teas such as herbal, etc really help people calm down (stress, anxiety, etc)?
Re: Tea as stress reliever
I've started drinking green tea regularly because of it's many benefits. It's loaded with anti-oxidants and so far I think it's kind of calming.
But then it depends on your state of mind too. If you're super stressed about something....even tea might not alleviate it.
Re: Tea as stress reliever
I mean relaxing after a long day or something of that sort. Not major depression or to get away from life’s problems ![]()
Yes, I do believe that it does help in relieving everyday stress. I love my cup of hot green tea at the end of each night.
Even tea making process is stress reliever. Many ppl corporate tycoons do occasional cooking to take there minds of the business.
Now be a doll make every one some grean tea, you will feel good already.
I know that you’re not referring to one having depression necessarily. I’m just saying that the more a person has on their mind (not depression)…the less effective a natural remedy might be. I’m just guessing. So far I like the green tea.
I’ve heard that green tea by itself tastes like dirty dishwater. So you can try the flavored variety. They’re 100% natural. I use Lipton’s cranberry and pomegranate green tea. It also contains chamomilie and other natural ingredients that probably relax a person. Their honey lemon is nice as well, but i’ve only seen it in decaf and supposedly decaf has less the nutrients the caffeinated one has.
I keep trying different flavors. I've recently got pomegranate green tea and love it. Have also tried ginger (yeah, I like the soothing warming sensation of ginger in winter), lavender, raspberry, summer berries etc.

try decaf tea...thats better

That would depend. Green tea, for example, is loaded with antioxidants and to reap the benefits, it's recommended to drink it 2-3 times a day. Green tea contains less caffeine than coffee.
However, if you feel that consuming regular green tea is keeping you up at night........then you can switch over to decaf. But keep in mind that decaf tea contains fewer antioxidants than regular tea. The nutrients are lost during the decafination process.
