do you, ladies, serve tea directly in cups or you prefer to serve it with kettle?
when you make coffee,it suppose to put it in the cups individually, can you pour it in kettle?
how can we differentiate the method of tea and coffee serving?

Re: Tea and coffee serving
I have never differentiated between serving method of coffee and tea or rather have never thought about it. But I have in my house tea set as well as a coffee set. The tea set comes with kettle but the coffee set consist of small sized cups & saucer and no kettle so basing my conclusion on the crockery items i have i think kettle is only required for tea and not for coffee you can directly serve it in cups :)
Re: Tea and coffee serving
You can get both coffee and teapots.Just depends on how you want to serve them.Posh guests chez CO get cups/saucers and served from the teapot.Friends get mugs!!.
I don't have a coffee pot,but do have coffee maker so just pour directly from that.
Re: Tea and coffee serving
Yeah , I just serve the coffee in the mug style cups
but tea pot usually goes with the tea cups and stuff …
Also one other thing that I do with certain guests , I have little ramekins, in each one I put some varieties of coffee we have at home.. some time back i wrote each coffee’s name on a little paper and stuck it on on the tooth pick … I stick that toothpick in the middle of the coffee heap .. like in starbucks
…
some of hubby’s buddies really love the idea … and enjoy coffee all the more ![]()
Re: Tea and coffee serving
Tea in the teapot nearly always with proper tea cups and saucers for any guests.
The only exception is when it's someone real close like my khala and we're just making 2-3 mugs of tea instead.
The teapot is heated with boiling water beforehand, so are the cups and saucers. Should never serve tea in cold cups. If you're brewing in the pot, add the milk to the cups first then add the tea. If you are making in the cups, let the tea brew first then add the milk.
It's a awesome logistical operation when you have 30 people for a dawat and you need to make 2-3 pots of tea, all hot and brewed well.
Coffee is usually served in coffee mugs but you do get coffee pots. We have very few coffee drinkers though.
Re: Tea and coffee serving
For tea-depends on the number of people , if there are less of them I just serve in cups, if more I use a tea-pot (pre-heated so tea doesn’t get cold in transfers)
Also depends if there are snacks served and I feel like bringing everything to the table at the same time, I use a tea-pot.
Coffee - always in cups/mugs ..I’ve noticed it tends to get colder sooner than tea
so that’s why..
Re: Tea and coffee serving
If its ghar ke log i.e. then just tea/coffee in a mug.
For guests tea brewed in a teapot, sugar lumps and both cold and hot milk on the side, I ask how much sugar and add milk to their taste, served in cups, with a teaspoon resting on the saucer - allowing guests to stir.
Coffee is poured from the coffee maker jug/pot into coffee mugs, with cream and sugar lumps on the side. Again with the teaspoon resting on saucer.
with a teaspoon resting on the saucer - allowing guests to stir.
whenever i serve tea,i always, stir it by myself.dont you think it's rude to leave this stirring thing to your guests?
Re: Tea and coffee serving
how do you serve the snacks with tea?i bring everything to the table and bring the tea when all the snacks are on the table.

I stir first with a different spoon, then put a clean spoon on the saucer in case the want to add more sugar, or stir further.
