Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

Thanks for sharing, friend.

I have heard of Hindus who care so much about Muharram.
There was a sikh poet who died lately, Kunwar Muhindar Singh Bedi. He used to say praises from the Prophet of Islam and Imam Hussein all the time..

Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

Wah wah KKF, you found some amazing pictures. Magnificent Taziyas.

Mahindar Singh once said this...

Ishq ho jaye kisi se koi chara to nahi
Faqat Muslim ka Mohammad (saw) pe Ijara to nahi

Re: ta’ziyah…have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

welcome…yeah, i’ve heard about that as well…par Islam qubool nahiiN kiyaa to yaqeen ho jaataa hai k ‘hidaayat’ Allah ke hii iKhtiyaar meN hai.

**thank you so much for liking  true magar MoHammad [saws] ko to maan lete haiN magar Islam ko nahiiN qubool karte…yeh bhii ajeeb baat hai!..bas, yehii kahnaa saHeeH hai k ‘hidaayat’ Allah ke haath meN hai…jise chaahe nawaaz de!

i’ve seen, with my own eyes, Hindus celebrating MoHarram in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, India…here is one such video.**

**I heard Mahinder Singh say that he is from the family of some Sikh guru. May be that’s why he wanted to stick to Sikhism.
But it is true that guidance is from Allah through one’s own effort.

He said:

Hum kisi deen se hon qayiil’e kirdaar to haiN
Hum Sana-khaan’e Shah’e Haidar’e karraar to haiN
Naam levaa haiN Muhammad ke parastaar to haiN
Yanii majboor paye Ahmed’e mukhtaar to haiN

Ishq ho jaaye kisi se , koii chara to nahiN
Sirf Muslim ka Muhammad pe ejaara to nahiN

Merii nazroN meN to islaam , muhabbat ka hai naam
Amn ka , aashiqui ki , mehr’o muravvat ka hai naam
Wusat’e qalb ka , ikhlaas’o ukhuwwat ka hai naam
Takhta’e daar pe bhi haqq’o sadaqat ka hai naam

**Mera Islaam nik’o naam hai badnaam nahiN
Baat itnii hai ke af-aam ye islaam nahiN **

Re: ta’ziyah…have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

Ashura is a public holiday in India…there r tales of hindu warriors going to Iraq to help Imam Hussein…as well as story of a hindu merchant meeting Imam Hussein quoted by Munshi Premchand in his book as…

“With tear filled eyes the traveler said: ”I am a Hindu, perhaps my fidelity is not convincing Master! Even though this heart is the land of Idol Temple In it is also lit the light of affection”.[33]
Husain ibn Ali said : What have you said in passion, Why should my eyes doubt your fidelity? My lord is aware of my conscience. What’s the difference between Hindu and Muslim is the quest for truth. This has the guiding principle for the People of the Cloak or Ahl al-Kisa.” (Islam in India - Wikipedia)

These accounts r not backed or verified in anyway by Islamic texts of history…these r most likely legends…like a Hindu pundit on TV the other day said that Imam Ali came to India to meet one of the hindu gurus…again a claim unfounded in our sources of history…I have known Imam Hassan AS having married a lady from Sindh (called ‘Sind’ in historical islamic texts)…

Re: ta’ziyah…have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

agree…we have to separate facts from fiction. thanx for your input…i know one thing for sure because i’ve seen with my own eyes that for whatever reasons a certain sect/community of Hindus do celebrate moHarram…as the video shows which happens every year in the city of Banda, Uttar Pradesh.

Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

observe not celebrate.

Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

shi'a Muslims 'observe' while Hindus 'celebrate' moHarram...they have a different take on it you know...they think their wishes will be realized if they celebrate moHarram...there is no sadness in their celebrations.

Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

It's not like we ignore all our wishes/desires during Muharram.

Maal o daulat naa hukoomat ba-khuda maangtay hain,
Hum gadda-e-dar-e-Zahra hain, aza maangtay hain

Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?

Re: ta'ziyah...have you ever seen them/seen them lately?
