This is a must see video. As i have repeatedly mentioned in many of my posts, the awaam is being raped by both the political/feudal establishment and the army inc. Notice how people claiming not to have any cars and property are diving in their Pajeros and bmrs! While poor awaam is the only one paying tax and the army inc and the feudal/politicians are living off the international hanouts meant for investment in health, public education etc. No wonder kayani was so upset when kerry-lugar hand out by passed the dole from the army!

Re: Tax-Free Living in Pakistan
last year someone very dear to me pay 22000RS tax on 60 million RS income..
that's how much worst it is..
Nawaz Sharif earns some hundreds of millions of dollars each month and pays 5000 rupees as tax.
I’m sure Zardari isn’t paying even that much ![]()
I also want to know how this Babar Commando Ghauri of the MQM all of a sudden became one of the richest people in Pakistan? I mean I can understand feudal s and industrialists being rich, even though illicit and deceptive means, but a supposed 'middle class' ka admi sitting in their ranks now? We need accountability badly!
What is really worrying is that only export is textile and agr. products (mangos ..umm). If there is no taxation collection from local consumptions and most of the external aid goes towards defence, luxury for the politician and interest on the debt as repayment, how long this is going to last?
Dont the haves dont get it that eventually there is going to be blood in street and they wont be safe.
I have this cynical belief that establishment/Army Inc. keeps masses occupied by the religious bigotry on purpose so the awaam dont revolt against them!
One solution is to levy..say 25% tax on anything purchased over 250,000rs (or some higher figure) except housing etc.

housing has already 10% levy on it. 10% is too much.. way too much, thats why the actual price of real estate is much more.

Thats why i said housing should be included because everybody poor, middle clase or VVIP needs houses. Only houses above certain amount should be levied, i do understand that people do understate the actual value of the house to reduce the 10% paid.
However, bmrs, corollas, pajero or other luxury goods (gold, diamond etc) they cant cheat on the prices. In any case i dont know how things can improve economically without revenue from local consumption. WOT is the only cash cow that has kept us going economically for last 10 yrs. I dont see any alternative to inter-national trade among south and central asia.
