Re: Taweez culture
Leave aside taweez thing, I’ve seen bowls (katora / pyala) which carry inscription of Ayat ul Kursi, Surah e Yaseen and people make their children drink water in these bowls for mitigating magic, etc effects. Now this seems totally a cultural aspect, which might not be a practice in Arabs.
